The most exciting time of year has arrived at Charles Krug.

Harvest is here, and the estate is buzzing with activity. From early mornings in the vineyard to grapes arriving at the winery, this is one of the most exciting times of year at Charles Krug. We’re also excited to welcome you to the first edition of From the Estate, a new way for us to stay connected and share more of what’s happening at the winery, in the vineyards, and within our Wine Club community throughout the year. We look forward to bringing you more stories, events, member benefits, wine and food inspiration, and behind-the-scenes moments in the months ahead.
September may be a little quieter on our events calendar, but it’s anything but quiet around the estate. Harvest season is underway, bringing a special energy to Charles Krug as grapes make their way from the vineyards to the winery, and another vintage begins to take shape.
It’s one of our favorite times of the year to visit. While the harvest team is hard at work, there’s plenty to enjoy at the estate, settle in for a tasting, enjoy the changing season in Napa Valley, and experience the excitement of harvest firsthand.
Our biggest celebration of the year is just around the corner! Join us for Tastings on the Lawn, our annual harvest gathering and one of our favorite Wine Club traditions.
This year, we invite you to step through the looking glass as the Charles Krug estate is transformed with a touch of Alice in Wonderland–inspired curiosity, charm, and mischief. Spend the afternoon enjoying delicious food, Limited Release and Family Reserve wines, and playful surprises throughout the estate as we raise a glass to harvest and the season that brings us all together.
Wine Club members receive 20% off event tickets.
Space is limited, so gather your favorite people and join us for an unforgettable afternoon at the estate.

Next month: What happens after the grapes reach the winery?
Estate grown. Night harvested. Made with intention.
This month, we’re pouring our 2024 Limited Release Sauvignon Blanc, crafted exclusively from fruit grown on our historic St. Helena estate. Hand-picked at night to preserve freshness, the grapes spend a few hours on their skins before being pressed and fermented in a combination of cement eggs and stainless barrels.
In the cellar, four different yeast strains are used to bring out the expressive character of Sauvignon Blanc. The result is a bright, lively wine layered with clementine, orange blossom, lemon and lime, alongside tropical notes of guava and passion fruit. A subtle creaminess and mineral streak balance the vibrant acidity, leading to a refined, lingering finish.
Why we’re pouring it now: As another harvest gets underway at the estate, this bottle gives us a chance to look back at the 2024 growing season: a classic Napa Valley vintage that delivered healthy yields, beautiful concentration and bold flavors.
A great bottle of wine doesn’t need an elaborate meal to shine. Our 2024 Limited Release Sauvignon Blanc is a natural partner for a simple cheese board, where its bright citrus, lively acidity and subtle creaminess can complement a range of flavors and textures.
Start with fresh goat cheese. Its creamy texture and signature tang are a classic match for Sauvignon Blanc. The wine’s vibrant acidity cuts through the richness of the cheese, while notes of lemon, lime and delicate honeysuckle complement its fresh, slightly earthy character.
Add Humboldt Fog. This soft-ripened goat cheese brings a little more complexity to the board. Its creamy texture and subtle tang pair beautifully with the wine’s citrus and tropical fruit notes, while its earthy character plays nicely alongside the Sauvignon Blanc’s subtle mineral streak.
Finish with a young Manchego. Mild, buttery and slightly nutty, a younger Manchego offers a firmer texture and savory contrast to the two goat cheeses. The wine’s bright acidity refreshes the palate between bites, while its notes of clementine, guava and passionfruit provide a delicious counterpoint to the cheese.
Complete the pairing with Marcona almonds, fresh figs or green grapes, a drizzle of honey, and slices of fresh baguette or simple crackers. Keep the accompaniments uncomplicated; the goal is to let the wine and cheeses take center stage.
A tip from the estate: Serve your Sauvignon Blanc well chilled but give it a few minutes in the glass before your first sip. As the wine begins to open, you may discover even more of its citrus, floral, and tropical characters.
Pour a glass, build a board, and enjoy a little taste of wine country at home.
